Utility Worker I/II
- Performs a variety of routine, unskilled and semi-skilled manual tasks necessary for the operation, maintenance, and installation of the water distribution and transmission system and related facilities.
- Carries out a variety of regular tasks that require little to no training that are necessary for the operation, installation, and upkeep of the water distribution and transmission system.
- Finding, setting up, modifying, and fixing new and old water service connections, metre boxes, valves, curb boxes, water mains, and fire hydrants with the assistance of higher level water utility workers. utilising a tractor, steam, high-pressure washer, and lawnmower.
- With a commercial driver's licence, you can drive a dump truck, tow a trailer, and transport tools and supplies for construction projects. responding to emergency service requests both during and after business hours, marking clients' homes, and, when needed, offering temporary water and other relief. helping at least once a year with the water distribution and transmission system's flushing.
- Attending safety training, understanding safety guidelines, and supporting a safe workplace Taking calls and using two-way radios. Operate a front-end loader and other relevant motorized construction equipment under strict supervision, directing traffic as needed Helps with chores related to building, grounds, and other maintenance, such as clearing snow and maintaining work sites, tools, trucks, and equipment. inventorying the equipment and materials in vehicles. such tasks as given or necessary.
Qualifications:
One (1) year of general maintenance and construction experience and a high school diploma or GED, or any other combination of education, experience, and expertise that is equivalent To get hired, a controlled substance (drug) test is required.
After hiring, there may be a random test for this role. Variety of
untrained and semi-trained maintenance duties can be performed. the capacity to
do out simple mechanical actions. the capacity to adhere to written and spoken

six months of employment, a Class "A" commercial learner's permit is

able to get one within a year. Having a current Intermediate Work Zone Safety
Training card or being able to get one in the next year. the capacity to work
overtime and standby as necessary. available outside of the primary site and working
hours to undertake maintenance work. able to work late hours flushing water
mains or performing other scheduled or urgent tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability
to carry out demanding physical work and lift up to one hundred (100) lbs.
being able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and cold
circumstances.
