A reputable legal business that has offices in both New York City and Newark, New Jersey, is looking to recruit a Word Processing Expert to work on-site at either location.

The Word Processing Expert will serve as the initial point of contact for users needing help with word processing and/or fixing document issues. Advanced familiarity and understanding with technology are required for the job, as well as a quick learning disposition. A commitment to providing excellent customer service and a professional, friendly approach are necessary. The ideal applicant will be self-driven, adaptable, and eager to go above and beyond to find solutions. Success depends on having strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Windows 10, Office 2016, Office 365, iManage, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Nuance PDF Converter, Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, Best Authority, Westlaw, Lexis, Aderant, and comparable products are used for document creation and editing.
  • Assist with testing and advice for applications upgrade.
  • Help with document conversion and cleanup; draught and edit complicated legal papers in accordance with the firm's guiding principles.
  • Customer service and assistance for users. provide technical support via the phone, through email, in person, and through a helpdesk ticketing system
  • Complicated document printing.
  • Utilizing Best Authority to make it easier to create and amend Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents and to create hyperlinks using Westlaw and Lexis.
  •  Putting data entry utilising different software programmes or transcriptions of analogue or digital dictation in your favourites; (BigHand).
  • Understanding and proficiency in E-Filing in NJ/NY Federal and State Courts.
  • Possessing the necessary skills for in-person or virtual notarization.
  • Whenever the needs of the department call for it, carry out the secretary's duties.

Skills Necessary:

  • Word processing and/or secretarial experience in a legal firm for at least five years.
  • Advanced proficiency with a variety of legal software programmes, including Windows 10, Office 2016, Office 365, and the Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multitask and fulfil deadlines successfully
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills, strong oral and written communication Abilities, strong problem-solving abilities, and strong customer service skills
  • Having the capacity to pick up new technologies fast and acquiring the necessary computer abilities.
